On September 16, the first International Exchange Event of Traditional Cultural and Arts was held at the National Base for International Cultural Trade (Beijing) in the Tianzhu Free Trade Zone. Vice Chairman of the 11th CPPCC National Committee and President of the China Population Welfare Foundation, Li Jinhua attended the event by invitation. Deputy Secretary of the CPPCC Party Committee of the Beijing Cultural Investment Development Group, Yan Xiaodong addressed at the event. Among the national-level art masters who attended the event were Chairman of the Board of the Beijing Tieyuan Culture and Art Co. Ltd., Cheng Tieyuan, Director of the China Population Welfare Foundation, Hao Linna, Deputy Director of the Center of Retired Officials of the Ministry of Culture, Liu Qinglang, Director of CFLAC Calligraphy and Painting Art Exchange Center, Yang Liangmin, Deputy Dean of the Calligraphy and Painting College of National Defense University of People’s Liberation Army, General Guo Zunxian, Outstanding Expert of the Ministry of Culture and founder of the Royal China Yuan Hua Tang, Xiang Yuanhua, Vice Chairman of the Board and General Manager of Beijing Cultural Investment Holdings Co. Ltd., Liu Wu, Liu Chunzhi, Zhou Jianming and Wu Ming and other guests.
Under the theme of “Advocating Traditional Chinese Culture and Arts and Promoting Cultural Exchange and Cooperation along the ‘Belt and Road’”, the event aims to make the National Base for International Cultural Trade (Beijing) a platform where cultural enterprises gather to make a real difference, advocate traditional Chinese culture and arts, promote international cultural exchange, improve the quality and influence for the Chinese culture to go out and enhance exchanges and mutual learning among domestic and foreign civilizations.
The five-day exchange event attracted acclaimed artists from home and abroad to display their works or visit the exhibition. Nearly a hundred enterprises in the fields of calligraphy and painting, zisha, pottery, porcelain and miniature engraving exhibited their products. The event included the first Traditional Cultural and Art Work Awards competition of the National Base for International Cultural Trade, the Chinese Traditional Cultural and Art Master Work Award competition, various forums and meetings where domestic and foreign artists and culture-lovers communicate face to face, pursue traditional culture and art development, and expand channels for international cultural and art trade. The exhibition was divided into five sections: artwork exhibition hall, calligraphy and painting exhibition hall, Jingdezhen porcelain exhibition hall, tea and wine exhibition hall, and furniture exhibition hall where visitors could appreciate artworks up close, and meet and communicate with artists in person.
Hosted by the Beijing International Cultural Trade and Service Center and the Beijing Tieyuan Culture and Art Co. Ltd. and organized by the Chinese Movie Derivative Industry Research Institute of the Beijing Film Academy and Beijing Aerospace and AgribioTech Co. Ltd., the event was made possible thanks to the guidance and support from the China Population Welfare Foundation, the Scientific and Technological Achievement Transfer Center of the “Belt and Road” Economic Research Institute, Zhongjing Guohua (Beijing) Investment Co. Ltd. and Yixing Zisha Craft Factory of Jiangsu province.
The National Base for International Cultural Trade, namely the cultural bonded area of the Beijing Tianzhu Free Trade Zone, is a national-level International Cultural Trade and Service platform accredited by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. It was established by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Beijing Municipality under the cooperation framework of state ministries and municipal governments. In response to the plans made by the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and the Municipal Government, the Beijing Cultural Investment Development Group would take overall responsibility for the development of the National Base for International Cultural Trade from July, 2017. The newly founded Beijing Cultural Investment Holdings Co. Ltd. has served as the investment and operation management body of the Base.
Beijing International Center for Cultural Trade Services, adjacent to Beijing Capital International Airport, is located within Beijing Tianzhu Free Trade Zone, with a floor surface of 235 Mu and a total building area of about 500,000 square meters. Following the requirements of “The Belt and Road” development initiative and culture development strategies, the NBICT takes advantage of the airport bonded policy, functions and services to provide domestic and foreign cultural institutions with international services such exhibition and experience, communication and promotion, transaction settlement, incubation and cultivation, financing and investment, and warehousing and logistics, based on three functional zones, namely the Gathering Center for International Cultural Trade Enterprises, the Exhibition, Warehousing and Logistics Center for International Cultural Products, and the Trading Service Center for International Cultural commodities. With its construction and development based in Beijing, the NBICT is committed to serving the whole country and even the rest of the world, and developing into a center for global cultural exhibition, exchanges and trade.
