On June 26, the “9 Magic Notes” piano concert series & the “SCO Day” reception were held at the National Center for the Performing Arts, during which Rashid Alimov, Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), delivered a speech.
The concert was hosted by the SCO Secretariat and the National Base for International Cultural Trade (NBICT) (Beijing), and co-organized by Beijing Cultural Investment Development Group and Beijing Cultural Investment International (BCII) Holdings Co., Ltd. Well-known artists, media reporters and other professionals at home and abroad were invited to the concert to enjoy the wonderful performances presented by young pianists from the eight member states of the SCO. Immersed in the beautiful melodies, participants witnessed this magnificent and splendid music banquet.
The event was the final one of the “9 Magic Notes” piano concert series organized by the SCO Secretariat since last year, aiming to strengthen the cultural exchanges and promote the international cooperation among the eight member states through the performances of pianists from these countries. “The vitality of the SCO lies in our common political aspiration and our belief in seeking the long-term good-neighborliness, friendship and common development,” said Rashid Alimov, “The concert is a celebration of the 17th birthday of the SCO, which is ready to deliver the melody of peace, beauty and hope to people.”

Since the 19th CPC National Congress, China’s leaders have attached great importance to cultural development and proposed to actively improve cultural construction so as to further boost China’s cultural self-confidence. Zhang Hanhui, Assistant Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, said that the SCO had gone through extraordinary 17 years, showing strong vitality and driving force for cooperation. Looking into the future, the SCO will continue to work with its member states and partners at home and abroad to advance cultural exchanges, take concrete measures to deepen the cooperation in various fields, and strengthen the awareness of a community of shared future.

The concert not only conveyed the good aspiration of the SCO for advancing the win-win cooperation with its partners, but also showed the determination of the NBICT (Beijing), Beijing Cultural Investment Development Group and the BCII to make unremitting efforts for the development of China’s cultural industry in response to “The Belt and Road” Initiative.

Established under the cooperation framework of China’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality, and officially licensed by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the National Base for International Cultural Trade (Beijing) and the Culture Free Port of Beijing Tianzhu Free Trade Zone serve as a national-level service platform for international cultural trade.
